    An Executive Committee met today and decided that the Sausage Competition would go ahead. I have looked in the diary and it seems that Carnival Day is the first opportunity. We shall combine our usual function, music, soft drinks and fun and a serious sausage competition based upon a bar-b-qued sausage on local charcoal from Lydden. Strict rules will be published once someone has thought of them.

    PaulB you are limited to supplying those Richmond things which even Victoria declares as bland. I will stand by Rooks finest, might even talk them into giving a prize.

    What we are seeking is flavour, local ingredients, a fine skin and minimum amount of fat (enough for flavour). On all these counts, PaulB must lose, but then the judges must decide (again to be decided), and we will declare on the day Dover's most popular sausage!
