The BBC local news have just advised all residents of Dover to boil their drinking water as it could be contiminated by bootleg spirits that were recently discarded by HMRC following a recent large seizure. Residents began ringing a hotline to report feelings of intoxication after drinking tea and coffee .

A spokesperson for the Water authority claimed that the water table could have been affected by large amounts of whisky, gin and vodka being tipped and finding its way through to domestic water supplies.

HMRC said that a full investigation was underway. Meanwhile the local police had arrested a number of elderly residents who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the post office where their were collecting their pensions.

Anyone experiencing any side effects are asked to contact a special hotline 0800 123 1234 and ask for Mr P I S Staker for advice.
