    In the paper today a letter from our new MP Mr Charlie Elphicke.

    To the thousands who backed me, thank you.

    I would like to thank the thousands of people who supported me at the general election.I am delighted and honoured to be elected to serve the people of Dover and Deal.

    Iwas stunned to be elected with a majority of almost 5,300.This levelof trust places a great sense of responsibility on my shoulders.

    ALREADY I have been putting our case to stop the port sale and for a proper hospital.

    Iwill put my all into getting the things we need for our community and will work tirelessly to deliver the people,s priorities.

    And I am here to serve each elector as well as the constituency as a whole.
