went up there this afternoon, what a wasteland, grass recently cut(no idea why) rusting goalposts and nothing else.
there could easily be 4 or more football/ rugby pitches, changing rooms and still have plenty of car parking space.
i seem to remember some years back that there were plans to put up changing facilities, then like most things dover, nothing materialises.
i noticed a sign on the way out that planning permission had been applied for in order to relevel.
looked totally level to me.

I'm up there regularly, Howard. Seems to be used by me and a quorum of other dog walkers, and that's it......what a waste of good land. As you say, it's perfectly level any way - and why would you need to apply to level ground that is already level? Bureaucracy in its most extreme.......
True friends stab you in the front.

DTC have a couple of planning applications - a recently one where i think the work is shortly to take place. It is quite lumpy and holey in places (such as fairly recently a subterranean feature collapsed)
"Alterations to existing playing field including re-levelling "
and also an old one from 2007:
"Relocation of football pitch, construction of a training area, erection of a sports pavilion (use class D2) and alterations to vehicular access and pedestrian access "
Been nice knowing you :)

that is what was at the back of my mind, the request for planning listed above.
" alterations to vehicular access", presumably to ensure there is no free parking?

seems that everyone agrees with me, we have this great open space unused except for andy and fellow dogwalkers, incidentally they must be the responsible ones, no richards as far as i could see.
a few goal posts and someone with a white liner then our kids are away!!
plenty of parking for parents, where is the problem?
No parking revenues!
