Jimmy you are right..these dogs do not make good pets and of course are expensive to keep...and one needs so many of them in order to hunt!
Following the hunting ban they were an unused un-needed commodity. A commodity is just there to make money so nobody keeps these dogs for affection...the result therfore was an untimely end for many. They did not have to be old ones to meet an early fate either. I saw a programme to this effect on television some time back. Not good.
But then killing the fox wasnt good either.
