it depends what you call illegal keith.if it comes from a iffy source then i would agree with you.most of the so called illegal stuff has country of origin labels on which is a garantee of qulaty,if it hasnt got this label it could be a bit iffy.not that i condone buying the stuff.
Thats the danger BRIAN but its becoming big business and very hard to keep up with, but there are dangers to health(apart from the obvious smoking)on the quality of this cheap illegal stuff
true kieth, but dont you think the goverment could do somthing about it at a stroke of a pen.if the goverment took some duty of the price to match the price that this illegal stuff is sold at,it would in theroy stop the illegal stuff from coming into the country.
BRIAN
I don't have the full details of what that would cost, the effect on the revenue lost should it happen, what effect on profits to those selling cigs.
So can't realy answer that
1,it cuts back on people smuggerling the stuff in.
2,it allso lumbers these people with stuff they cant sell.so kills there profit.
3,goverments revenue gos up.
yeah ok kieth, could have done without a chest infection and artheritus in the shoulder.
back to topic, the booze cruises have now virtuly stopped because beer, wines and spirits are a bit cheaper this side of the water [yes its possable just compear prices].if its done on the tobbaco front the same thing will happen.as for the health issues from smoking the same issues rise from drinking [liver, kidney etc]and obeseaty to much wrong fatty foods etc.
