Does anyone have a clue where this mid/late 1930`s view may have been taken in Dover? I have a number of photograph`s taken during this period by my father, and most are recognisable as being in Dover, but there are a few shots at this location, some with people, but this is the only one that gives a clear view. With the interest and knowledge of some member`s on here, I`m just chancing it might be known. No landmarks of course, but it`s whether anybody`s spotted anywhere`s resembling this sort of area in any of the local books available? A bit of detective work for someone maybe?

Sorry Howard I think it is a no to that one, it does not fit in some how with the ground,I go back to the 40s and Crabble looks like the same today as then apart from the far end.

With Vic on this. From the viewpoint it would have been from Lewisham Road but the hills behind aren't high enough.
However Vic, surely it's too big for Brook House.

JHG. I can`t be 100% sure on that one John, other than practically all the other photograph`s of his are around the Dover sea front area, but regarding Sandwich, I would imagine that was a way to go in them days, but I don`t know how much people travelled about then with less money about as now. Another picture taken on the same day shows more detail to the left, with some houses in the distance, but they can only be seen when the picture`s enlarged. The bowling green at Dover sound`s good, if it was there then, but on the other hand, it could be some other location which has long been built on.
