    Re Terry's mention of the Scottish Laundry in post #1267

    Some time ago I bought a map of Dover dated 1938. It bears the annotation shown below saying " Scottish Laundry. Buckland Avenue, Dover. Site of proposed works."

    Therefore one concludes that it was employed by the planning department. There is a rubber stamp on the bottom saying "Printed on War Substitute Paper" so it must have been used in WW2 or just after.

    Wonder where you go to get your sporran laundered nowadays?
