#2188. It was the old YMCA Howard. I stayed there in 1971/72 when I first came to Dover, my room was extreme right with the two windows under the gable end. It mostly housed seaman who worked on the ferries before the shift system changed to week on/week off. There were also a few old pensioners and a few students staying there as well.
I believe it became a care home later, I don't know about now though. I know the lady who bought it but haven't seen her about for some time.
I went up market and moved to Victoria Park later
