It is one of the Darwin twins, namely Pride of Canterbury or Pride of Kent. The nice large streamlined funnel is the giveaway. Spirit of Britain has a nasty squidgy thing modelled on the sculptured Rodin/Berlioz creation but sans the elan. Doesn't even do the job properly, deposits soot on the paying public. Spirit of France, now complete and on her sea trials, has had the exhausts extended to compensate. What Peter calls the drooping bow is the forecastle shielded by sloping bulwarks to provide a windbreak for the deck crew. The later ferries have whalebacks which offer a lot more protection to the deck crew and the winches and windlasses up forward. Still gets very cold, wet and windy but better than nothing.
