I haven't seen Cameron but have seen he's spoken to the papers, probably from the hotel hideway. I think that with his line on comprehensive schools and the suggestion that he wants to be a progressive this may, if we take his word at face value, be the turning point of his political direction between now and the general election. He cannot be a progressive, be understanding of social issues, hug a hoodie etc and be a hardline Thatcherite. This may now mean a good comp in every town, and a closure plan for grammer schools, but he looks like he is now taking the line of the IDS report and all that entails.
