    My neighhbour told me about the white fields near St Margaret's, it is white FLAX (Linseed, for the oil or seed), I don't think the plant is used much (at least not in Britain) for linen manufacture now, but I may be wrong. Usually the flax flowers are blue but this is another variety, maybe the seed is better from the white one. On Monday we saw two flax fields, one white, one blue, near Chartham.
