Along the Barton Path this morning: mallards, moorhens, pied wagtail, grey wagtail, house sparrows, magpies, little egret, blue tits, blackbird. Sadly no kingfisher today, though it was there about a week ago.

I would love to have seen the egret. Haven't seen one since that pair famously visited a number of years ago.

I could've sworn I saw a kingfisher zoom past me along Barton Path once a couple of decades ago, but couldn't find anyone who could reliably confirm to me that they are actually a thing in Dover. Also at Connaught Park once. Just a quick "what was that" flash of brilliant blue both times. I would love to spot one properly!

Does this current Barton Path one have a favourite perch perchance?
