I think Keith's question was why can't we provide good shops, pubs and restaurants like Canterbury.
Apart from Canterbury being a City with a GOOD reputation, it still "only" has a cathedral and shopping to attract people, but it works -even people from Dover go there.
Has it anything to do with the spend in the Town ? of course it has. Other businesses see how well Canterbury shops are doing so go there to open their business; because too many local people do not support what we do have here in Dover, you can't keep asking why others Towns have better shops.
Dover has a much more diverse history and historic sites and attractions; we all know what they are, but others (most of them) outside of Dover do not, so obviously we are not promoting the Town properly/successfully.
Paul and others tell me not to push the shopping side of Dover cos it's crap anyway, but I have 39 businesses confirmed for my leaflet and I wouldn't say any of them are crap - some are better than others it's true, but in any league of businesses, even football teams, some will be better than others.
Shop local - use it or lose it.
Roger
