  Have you all forgotten how poor people existed before Thatcher, before Blair, before Brown? That the "welfare state" was created because people - human beings - deserve support. If some abuse that we should manage that, not punish or tar everyone because of the abusers. What is the alternative? Poor people dying and starving, people living in hellish conditions because we failed to manage the system?
