I'm not a beer drinker at all, but love wine (and Single Malt Scotch):
Red - Chateauneuf Du Pape, Cotes Du Rhone or Bull's Blood
Rosé - Cotes Du Provence or Mateus
White - Pouilly Fumé, Pouilly Fuissé, Sancerre or Chablis
Champagne - Vintage Krug if anyone else is buying, Lanson if I'm in the chair.
Jeanette served us a lovely Rosé in The White Horse when we had some Japanese friends over recently, but I've forgotten what it was. Nothing to do with the quantity drunk!
Scotch - Highland Park, Dalwhinnie or The Glenlivet. There are some big 'No thank yous' with Scotch, though - Glenfiddich, Laphroaig, Talisker or (worst of all by a long, long way) Sun Tory. Japanese Single Malt - who thought that was a good idea?
