    I have a wood burner, very efficient, gets too hot at times! Sometimes the 'romance' of the cosy hearthside can mask the reality of the work these things generate.The drawbacks are the dust it generates when removing the ashes, storing the wood in a dry place, chopping sticks and accumalating old newspapers. Make sure you have your chimney swept every year before lighting the fire and have a good size hearth to prevent hot sparks ruining your floors/carpets! Roll on winter!!!!
