I agree with nearly all of you,Wednesday afternoon would be quiet in the Town and having a thousand people there would add to the footfall and yes some food/drink places could or would make a fortune.I believe that this is not the real reason though!!!
The cost to screen the matches I was told was £62,000 and although most of the money as I understand it came from DDC and DTC I have heard that they couldn't raise all the money.Also I heard that the first game went off without any trouble but in the second game there was a little trouble and I wonder if this is another reason,if that is the case no one would travel by train as the Police are at the Train Station almost every night.Good to see the coverage on the Telly,but I believe Sid's posting is brilliant and we Sid and I don't agree on much.The other good news is they showed Mick Sergeant and David Ridley and cut Aspy's bit out!
