Marek, come off it that is nonsense and you know it.
The privatisation is not at all relevant to the matter of future power shortages.
What is relevant is the indecision and the utter failure of the Labour Government to actually make a decision, in good time, on the provision of additional generating capacity to replace old power stations and to take up increased demand.
Wind farms and renewables will not fill the gap, there have been enough reports saying just that.
We need a new generation of nuclear fision powered reactors to bridge the gap until clean and safe nuclear fusion is developed. That has been spelled out in reports going back at least 3 years. We discussed just this a couple of years ago on the forum when we were warned of future power shortages. So what does this wretched Government do? Instead of taking the difficult decisions and in so doing upsetting special interest groups, it dithers, so now they have to assume that in 8 years time we will have 'brown-outs'. Pathetic and dangerous.
