  i make no apologies for the corny title, dover has at last done justice to itself over the last two days.
  
  not only two great events run concurrently, but advertised in such a way that there were no excuses for people not to know.
  
  the big screen ran info all week, an advertising hoarding in the best position in town, coverage from the local press and of course pauls organ bore results.
  
  crowds were enormous and enthusiastic and the master of ceremonies on the sea front when confronted with the delay of the spitfire flight reminded people of the free open top bus service up to the heights.
  
  coming back from the western heights to see the fly past i got talking to 2 american couples off of the cruise ship in port, they were over the moon about the dover they had seen in only a couple of hours and were really looking forward to the flypast.
  they could not believe that it was all for free, including the bus rides either.
  
  hearty congrats to the district and town councils, bobby wotsisname at the harbour board, the western heights preservation society and all the people working behind the scene.
