Vic Matcham, you are of course entitled to your opinion on other posts, by the same token, so are others. Not being able to dispute the factual content of any statement does not make that statement rubbish. It might be due to selective or limited understanding of the subject or being unwilling to accept defeat.
To take it back to wreaths, now you have changed your password/ Security, I made a point of visiting as many memorials as possible in the time available between having guests. No others removed the wreaths and even the one close to an indoor shopping area near the seafront, obviously more exposed to the elements, is still in place. Health and Safety must only be applicable to one memorial. It's amazing how a split second of forethought can save the residents or passersby in those area's of being slain by airborne wreaths, by simply securing the wreaths. Now, the fact a number of wooden crosses fell, having witnessed some man out running picking them up on 2 separate occasions, does create the issue of H&S. If wreaths were a danger, does that mean pedestrians were put at risk during all the time the crosses were there? I have put this question to the same person who is in contact with the 72 branches of RBL. Having been responsible for laying out the field of Remembrance and the taking down of same, the one person responsible may want to think of that. The lesson here, in case it was missed, do not accept fairy tale excuses, suggested by another with ulterior motives, then act upon them without further consultation with those who ultimately carry the weight of responsibly, the committee. At ease.
