Yacht Club's "Roger Marples" Beer Festival

  As my most recent Newsletter sank very quickly, I thought I'd start a thread on the Yacht Club's "Roger Marples" Beer Festival
  
  It's this Friday & Saturday, 1st & 2nd March, 12.00 to 23.00 both days.
  
  There will be a dedication of the bench to commemorate Roger at 14.00 on Saturday.
  
  You don't have to be a member of the Yacht Club to go in there this week-end and entry is free.
  
  A good selection of beers available as well as food and music.

  Must have missed you Peter.
  
  A great afternoon at the Yacht Club and just as I thought, a great selection of real ales, food and music.
  
  There was dedication of a bench to Roger Marples and with Roger often described as true English Gent, it was most appropriate that the bench was made out of English Oak.
  
  His wife Pauline is not well at the moment, so we wish her well.
  
  Saw a few Forumites there and good to chat, but we weren't there long - about an hour.

  It was an enjoyable afternoon, met lots of old friends and I'm sure there's still plenty of drinking to be done tonight or tomorrow in Roger's memory.

  I must admit to being at the yacht club this afternoon, and very enjoyable it was,went from there to the pier 3 a new bistro and was very impressed.
