  I agree with the bands are lovely the input of them was great, would be nice to see all the children who schools could have made little flags etc with them also get them to lined up along the way also would have been wonderful and free. Maybe some free refreshments of water, orange for the little ones or anyone not costing a lot but showing some kindness and good spirit to the common people and it is them who really matter because they did not have to attend but did. As you say Jan 'bit of pomp and excitement to those who could not care less about the actual meaning'. Its not that I am against it all but could have had a lot more thought and lot less cost and some of that cost going to the common people turning up. If this town wants to make such occasions think about it a lot more and find ways to do it without huge costs and load of money spent on only certain people.
