At last - a well deserved honour!
The last of the great comedians.
Arise Sir Kenneth Arthur Dodd of Notty Ash, at the grand age of 89, and I've got tickets for his show in Wimbledon in March!
(I presume I'll get a refund if he croaks before then?

I don't think it is a good idea honouring sports persons until their career is over. With all due respecct to the Olympic greats like Mo Farah we now see medals being taken back because of doping many years after they were won and in many sports we are hearing about matches being thrown in order to get a pay out from a bookmaker.

With a nod to his 'problems' with the Inland Revenue he will be accompanied by two Diddy Men at his investiture.
'Diddy Pay'? and 'Diddy Hell'!

Saw that one too Jan.....a true comedian who still has the ability to pull in and entertain large audiences.
I attended one of his shows a couple of years ago in Worthing; he was great and kept going 'til about 1a.m.!
If the Captain had made a better job of his ticket scan he posted, we could all be attending the show
In Wimbledon in March! (All using the same seat. Mm.....could that be how lap dancing was discovered?

Did you all see the programme with him, on his life at 89 years old?
he feels his shows should last 5 hours
another comic said Ken never deletes old jokes just adds to them

I also watched that programme Keith; he's a true entertainer which we sadly seem to lack too many of nowadays.
Ken Dodd certainly gives you your money's worth with 5 hours being the minimum length of many of his shows.

So farewell then Sir Kenneth.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-43367267
I was fortunate enough to see what must have been his last show on 28 December last in Liverpool.
Wonderful news that last Friday he married his girl friend of 40 years sticking both two fingers and a tickling stick up to the Tax Man in relation to inheritance tax. He had the last laugh to the end! Well done Doddy.

Not that long ago I watched An Audience With Ken Dodd on tv and laughed out loud, a really funny man who I believe will never be equaled for his quick wit. RIP

ITV are showing a tribute at about 10.45 tonight, I think they said it would be Another Audience With Ken Dodd. I will be recording it.

His funeral is scheduled for Thursday, but will possibly still be going on through Friday as well, you know what he's like.
