    Re post #7, I'm looking forward to hearing Mr Batten-down-the-hatches denounce other elements of the Orwellian state, such as CCTV anď biometrics, for example. But somehow I think that won't happen. If he's going to do his politics using literary metaphors, then he should choose them wisely, or he may find himself falling down a rabbit hole without a way back.
