  Many of the existing properties were allowed to be converted into minuscule homes not big enough for families who have adult children, as a result these youngsters find themselves homeless with no funds for the large deposits often demanded even if they manage to find somewhere.
  
  The thousands of foreigners that flooded into the UK with the EU's open door policy, had to be housed but there has been no real increase in suitable new properties to cover their needs so little wonder there are more homeless.
