Casting off the shackles of yesteryear... Perhaps you thought gender equality was about women being equally able to become monarchs, national leaders, astronauts, chief cashiers, voters, military/blue light personnel and so on. Nope. It was, apparently, freedom from institutionally sexist association with the colour pink.
So, a big 'well done' goes to Valspar for "holding its hands up and acknowledging [that] some of its pink paint names are formed of old-fashioned gender stereotypes which no longer have a place in modern-day society." They will rebrand the shades called Dollface, Sweet Angel, Girly Girl and Ladylike and rename them in ‘empowering, gender-neutral terms’ including Woke Up Like This, Anything You Can Do, Fearless and Like a Boss.
