That's not the reason she acted that way Keith, everyone knows that a job interview entails a hand shake before and after and as she was born and brought up in Sweden she would have known that it was part of life there. All this has done is give ammunition to the far right who already have great support there.

At the start of the interview she could have explained her reason for not shaking hands as I doubt the interviewer would have known the reason, I have never heard of this before and I have met a quite a few of Muslims in the past.
All I know I would have a problem giving a job to someone who was this extreme in their religious beliefs simply because I would feel they would never fit in with the rest of the workforce. Their personality would be the deciding factor, they would have to be open and friendly otherwise they definitely would never be part of a team which is vital when running any business.

If I took your logic
a lot of people wouldn't be employed
As there are extremes or just everyday views in all workforces

Many people hold strong political or religious views but keep them out of the work place Keith, this particular individual seems to be unemployable, maybe the out of work benefits in Sweden are high?
The Swiss won't put up with this nonsense.

I would think that the interviewer wouldn’t be doing his job correctly if, amongst other things, he didn’t strive to employ someone that he at least thought would be compatible with the existing workforce?

Maybe this is the reason a lot of people are unemployed for a long time.
Would you employ someone who would not fit in with your fellow work colleagues?

Job adverts over the last 20 years or so state clearly that the successful applicant must be a good team player which would rule out the individual that this thread is centred on.
How would she react when needing medical attention and a doctor or nurse needed to touch her flesh?
