FWIW I recommend Giff Gaff
https://www.giffgaff.com/sim-only-plans
Actually owned by O2's owners Telefónica so using same network coverage at a fraction of the price.

With Vodafone I get unlimited texts, 2 gb of data and 150 minutes of phone time for £10 a month and they roll over what I haven't used so I will stay where I am.

With Giff Gaff for £10 you'd get unlimited 'phone calls and 3GB Howard .......................

Wouldn't really benefit me Bob I don't get close to using the present 2GB(use my laptop more) and 500 minutes of phone time left this month that has been rolled over from previous months. Like many nowadays I use e mail and text messages a lot. The Giff Gaff deal seems to be better for those who prefer a phone to a laptop.

I've been on Tesco PAYG for years - rarely use the mobile but have it for emergencies or when travelling. They use the O2 network so coverage is good. If I spend £30 a year, I'm being extravagant.....

We changed from Three when they stopped allowing you to tether, giff gaff was the only one that was allowing it, we set a WiFi hotspot and connect to our tablets, laptops and tv, tv eats through your data but to catch up on a program occasionally or something not available through freeview it works a treat.

We have been with Giffgaff a few months now.
The price is good, the service is good, they have fair coverage in our village but the only downside is that they don’t offer WiFi calling when you have no signal.
A big bonus is that the Mrs can now watch TV in the car while her tablet is tethered to my mobile phone.
