  i have long argued on here that traditional right and left wing politics is outdated and only appeals to the knee jerk voters who automatically vote red or blue each time because they always have.
  
  the problem is that westminster is a closed shop where our betters are totally unaware of the contempt most of us hold them in despite the rise of ukip who have gained support from a variety of quarters.
  
  andrew mentions the distinction between the guardian and the telegraph, personally i don't think they are very far apart at all nowadays with many traditional blues refusing to buy it anymore.
