  Let's see if I can cast some light on what is going on with the Brexit thingy.
  
  1. Some time around 20019 we withdraw from EU whereupon EU citizens become subject to immigration control under the various Immigration Acts and Statutory Instruments (i.e. Wogs start at Calais again) . All EU citizens at present lawfully in the United Kingdom would keep their status quo ante IF their individual Governments are willing to grant same for UK subjects in their countries.
  
  2. ALL European legislation would be subsumed into EU law through 'Great Repeal Bill' so no-one would find change in workers' 'rights' etc.
  
  3. Between declaration of Article 50 and withdrawal from EU we renegotiate trading position with EU so we become like the hundred + countries which have been trading successfully with the EU since its inception without being part of 'Customs Union' etc.
  
  4. Over next two years journalists write loads of scary drivel to sell newspapers and the likes of that mad SNP woman and Corbyn wring their hands in impotence and claim the government does not know what its doing.
  
  5. GDP, house prices, interest rates, unemployment go up and or down a bit (as they do) which is taken as a sign of the end of the world.
