    Bearing in mind that their industrial infrastructure was pretty much flattened by 1945, it might be argued that the matter of investing in modern/contemporaneous technology was just a matter of course in the rebuilding of post-war German.


    A "matter of course" that from bankrupt, defeated rubble they built organisations such as BMW, Audi and Volkswagon within a couple of decades whilst we ploughed our resources into diversity officers and 5 a day co-ordinators. Japan is another example of a country defiantly dragging itself upwards.
