    I am a bit surprised the cabinet as gone off on its holidays leaving the negotiations in a state of such disarray. It's not like the civil servants can just get one with it, as our position on just about everything is till undecided due to cabinet divisions. They really should use this time and bang their heads together to agree a common position - it is not business as usual.

    Put simply, the collective position of 27 EU Member States is a walk in the park compared to the collective position and self interest of the Tory party,
