    I daresay you're right, Mr McS. "Obvious" solution pending the lorry park, once you spot (I didn't) that the government, then newly-elected with a workable majority, was going to respond to Kent voters professing severe inconvenience when cross-channel services are affected.

    Voter: Dear Minister, please get these lorries off the motorway so I can use it for commuting.
    Minister: Dear Voter, of course - we'll put 3,600 lorries in a £250m field alongside the motorway then.
    Voter: Dear Minister, I protest about 3,600 lorries in a field anywhere near me.
