    Eurotunnel recognised long ago that the future of their business had to be centred around the freight market. They have invested millions in freight shuttles and this transaction/documentation processing improvement is an extension of their commitment to freight.

    Unfortunately, DHB and the ferry companies have nowhere near the same control over their infrastructure as Eurotunnel has. Hard as Doug Bannister has tried to elicit the required dosh from central government, the port is constrained by its geography and government fear of anything that raises negative Brexit implications.
