    Surely Dave will say that he/it/they/the UK/successive Governments were wrong to drive to get us out of the EU, more likely he will say that 'we' were wrong to take it that way. That we are, and always have been, committed supporters and firm friends of the marvellous EU.
    He will then apologise for the necessity of putting us all right. Yes, here and there, he will say, there are wrinkles that need to be ironed-out, but the conversation that needs to be had is one of cosy fire-side chat amongst friends. A postprandial, chuckle-some, back-slapping new-deal for all, and this can only be done by remaining firmly within the EU.
