Let's be honest the vast majority of residents do not care who the mayor is as it is a purely ceremonial role with no power to do anything. Sue Jones has done it before without any mishaps & will carry it off well this time too.
On a more serious note DTC is a parish council yet has the highest precept of any parish in the district, all so we can have an expensive town clerk & a team of staff. Yet we have two of the worst wards for urban deprivation in the district as part of that parish. Surely the town council should be looking to rein in its spending so that they can significantly reduce their precept? Especially as their only statutory duties are the management of allotments & public clocks.
