Pragmatism Your Grace, down in the West country and other godless parts of our sceptered isle the battle is between the sandal wearers and the Tories - any Labour involvement lets the latter in.

Correction, pacts rarely work on behalf of the electorate.

Thumping majorities, either side, appear to be a thing of the past in European politics. So, this kind of pragmatic thinking is absolutely necessary. It is quite unlikely that Brexit will be anything other than a shambles, and even in the unlikely event that is does prove successful, it will be many, many years in the making. That gives a clear window for the Tories to be ousted at the next GE, and frankly, I don't care how that happens! If JC becomes PM, of course there is a danger he could go too far the other way, but I have every faith that the civil service will steady the ship along the way, along with a bit of Lib Dem input, in may not be a bad thing.
