The post you are reporting:
The EU Referendum.
The votes are all in, the referendum 'results' we will soon hear,
Are they being counted in Paris, Amsterdam or Cologne?
For impartiality of course, they should be honest and clear,
Perhaps the result is already decided, we're in the European zone.
"I've heard that we're out," Boris said, "So I'm content,"
"I'm going to London on my bike to view number ten,
First a grand tour of Europe, where I'll live in a tent,
Then back to a reformed Great Britain, to be free again!"
There was nothing to gain by leaving, Dave said to us all,
Then George waded in with how the country would lose,
So why have the referendum if he knows the UK would fall,
Have they just lost their way and so they asked us to choose?
The Europeans and politicians care for this country? Not a toss,
They care for themselves and their positions of power,
Whatever happens, the result will surely be the peasants loss,
They patronise us, tax us and drive our living standards lower.
You slurp your beer; expensive wine and champagne they quaff,
Whilst you bail out their chums in the big houses and bankers,
You've had your chance to vote, to say enough is enough,
Despite this, the government's choice may still produce rancour.
The campaign has been conducted with many lies generating hate,
Both sides, including Messrs Cameron, Osborne, Farage and Gove,
Extolling the virtues of the chosen route they say we should take,
Blatantly weaving a web of deceit in pursuit of a life that they love.
Whilst the vicious referendum fiasco has been taking place,
The world seems to have taken it's eye off others dire plight,
With the build up of weapons, armies moving covertly apace,
The impending dangers not heeded, out of mind out of sight?
Religious conflicts never ending, bailouts, tyranny and greed,
Innocent children, in danger, bombed out, fleeing under duress,
For many, the time has passed to get the help that they need,
Sadly, mankind's insatiable self interest has left the world in a mess.
