Yesterday I had an interesting chat with a local on s number of things , local and national .
From my own personal point of view of the conservatives were the only party standing I wouldn't vote for them .
There may well be a few things I may agree on, but the vast majority I don't .
So it brings me to what next?
A lot of labour supporters /activists are of the opinion that a ground swell is happening and in not to distant future the tide will turn.
This is probably where we differ , but what would the world be like if we all agreed .
Now, some have questioned me in two ways .....
1 Shouldn't I just sit back and wait for the election of
An alternative to conservative
It's here that I have some issues, if your motivated by
Wanting a better society , I do get it, but it's fair
To say those wanting office need to be what we
Want.
The other issue revolves around not just fit for
Purpose , but will people vote this govt out?
It's here that gives me some issues , I
Recognise ,and see in my own community
People suffering, and the need for an
Alternative , but less sure people at this time
Are as ready as many opposition supporters
Suggest (in this I hope I'm wrong )
2. The other is of course what kind of Govt are
People looking for, I would suggest a fair one
And one not bogged down with looking
After people quite able to look after
Themselves . We had 13 years of a lab
Govt which ok, did some good things , but
Active in a trade union he did some awful
Things , we also look at issues around
Public ownership , the NHS etc which
Local people didn't do that well under
T Blair
I believe that's what people are looking for
Now, to elect a new Govt you have to have
Confidence in them , and whilst even I
Recognise opinion polls ,and the red Wall
May well be turning red again , nothing can
Be left to chance .
So , of course people want alternatives, and anyone
Thinking they will just walk into number 10 is
Misguided , even with a change in public opinion
I'm not so sure people even today are ready for a
Change.
Today we face major issues around the world , in the uK
And even in our local communities .
It's a tough test .
In my local community of three district councillors
I gave seen it go from rock solid labour to electing two conservatives and an unknown lab person .
That tells a story of a party not active in the community
It's good for thought and changing every day
