Hardly helps matters unless one has a copy of the paper.

A couple of weeks ago there was a long letter and I think an article in the Mercury from previous Mayor Peter Mee .He was critical of current Mayor. All about the car saga and mayors appearance. No mystery just keeping the Mercurys circulation going Now rush out and buy it ..

I don't know about the rest of you but I am really none the wiser except that two people have written to the Mercury.
I assume Sue is on commission to try and boost the paper's sales.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I fear we will go to our graves without knowing what calumny has befallen His Holiness the Mayor and a humble former Parish Councillor.
Perhaps it is for the best?

It appears Cllr Rix doesn't feel Mr Mee should have a voice on items such as the Mayor wanting a £30,000 car for himself.
Cllr Rix in his article states he lives in River(which I assume meant he shouldn't have a voice)
Of course Cllr Rix quoted the 1974 health and safety at work act, but didn't add his words were more about the position of Mayor should have such a car, the Health and safety part wasn't a major part of the mayors view.
I don't think Cllr Rix does himself any justice when he states Mr Mee should consider issues nearer to where he lives, then says the same about Mr Phelps.
With the cutbacks many people are struggling, and we should be listening to all those that have a view.
Mr Mee had served for many years on DTC so an experienced viewpoint.
Once again we have hit bad publicity for DTC .
Still, May will soon be here.

I have heard the Mayor speak.
I have also read Sniffer's letter in the EKM which was grammatically correct and erudite.
I wonder who wrote it for him. Perhaps this is a further example of work by the rather expensive PR firm which DTC has taken to using of recent.
