Political decisions (& propoganda) led to the situation where we apparently have a need to encourage people who have either reached state retirement age or have opted to retire early to return to the workforce.
My initial question as one of the latter is why the hell would I want to?
If we decide that it is beneficial to the country & employers then it needs a comprehensive government led solution rather than dragging individual employers through court, especially as the consequences of the courts ruling against individual companies is a huge financial burden on pension funds &/or the dilution of everyone's employer based pensions; but the dilution will be even greater for younger people as you legally cannot reduce pensions in payment.
With regard to healthcare insurance the increased risk of covering older people will lead to higher premiums for all, therefore reducing wages &/or increasing employer costs. Employers need little enough excuse to cut pay & diminish Ts & Cs, all Ms E is doing is giving them a fantastic excuse to do so.
