To be fair i am glad we have moved slightly away from the days of Maggie .

What I believe we are finding now is like other leaders with big majorities they become complacent and stop listening .
In the end it will be Boris downfall as a leader but I feel this will be a slow bleed

    Button
I have been saying this for some time , the major opposition is the only one likely to replace the Govt
But all Starmer wants at the mo is to expell anyone who doesn't agree with him and more locally people would at least feel more engaged if they saw there local councillor .
We have three cllrs in this ward
    Somehow it ended up
    Two conservatives
    One labour
I keep asking locals do they know who the labour cllr is , before people say he's a nice chap , I'm sure he is ,
Most locals have no idea who he is

So it doesn't matter how good a speaker you may be in the chamber ,it's locals that elect you .
The ward I live even with the boundary changes should be rock solid labour .
But over the years they have let slip big majorities to make this a very marginal ward , one they are likely to lose the third seat next time round .

Although across the country in many places it's much the same , I have been urging for a credible alternative , both locally and nationally, so at least people have something to vote for.

What's happening now is people are just not bothering to vote ,. Protest voting , or voting for the least damaging.
    Hardly good for democracy .
Trouble is I don't see it changing any time soon
