It is generally agreed that the PM gave him the job so that he was kept busy and wouldn't have time to plot against her but he clearly isn't up to the job which doesn't help our standing in the world.

I, for one (now there's a surprise) have no problem with Boris.
The Guardian, naturally, is annoyed that he has congratulated the Hungarians on basically voting to remain errrrrr mostly Hungarian.

I think it is fair to say that nobody overseas takes Boris any more seriously than we do. I read somewhere, can't remember where exactly, that most overseas Governments disregard anything from Boris until there hear it from one of his junior Ministers - who they assume to be far more likely to be working from the UK Government brief rather than freelancing.

If that is true, it makes an absolute mockery of high office.

Let's get some facts straight here for once.
As the article says Boris was reacting to a comment by a Labour MP who said “Putin is going to use it in the way Hitler used the 1936 Olympics,”
Boris replied - “I think that your characterisation of what is going to happen in Moscow, the World Cup, in all the venues – yes, I think the comparison with 1936 is certainly right. It is an emetic prospect of Putin glorying in this sporting event”
N.B. Boris purposefully did NOT mention Hitler - though (of course) this is now firmly in the Left's alternative version of history along with Gove's 'had enough of experts' etc.

Ministers have a team around them to brief them each morning on what questions to expect and what answers to give. If in doubt just say that would be an ecumenical matter. Boris clearly doesn't listen as evidenced by him dropping that British Iranian woman right in it.

Would that be Ian Austin from the
Progress wing of Labour, one of the 172 MPs that conspired against the leadership in spite of the clear mandate given to Mr Corbyn and co by the members? FACT.

Don't know. Don't care. Bottom line is Boris did not use the 'H' word.

Here's a nice picture of him standing with an alleged Grenfell denialist. Imagine if that had been Mr Corbyn...

Incidentally, was it the Kensington and Chelsea Conservative Party that asked residents to rate the Grenfell Tower fire disaster on a priority scale of 0 -to- 10 (0 being not important at all and 10 being very important)?

Thank goodness for that, Boris is a complete embarrassment, I am amazed how he is still in office.

Does that comment cater for paragraph two of post #10 as well?

He's a man who puts his own self-aggrandisement above every other consideration. That's all you need to know really. Gove and Trump have similar characteristics.

Let's face it, Labour have been pathetic on Johnson. They should have had the monkey by the tail, but all they do is throw him bananas.
