Never a dull moment there with musical chairs being played in the council chamber, been quiet for a couple of years but back to normal now.

It will probably go back tory at next election.
UKIP likely to lose a lot of seats to both the major parties
But i'm sure there will be more either resignations or crossing the floor before then.
We don't hear much about that ex Labour woman in shipway crossing over to Tories
I met her once she didn't appear very sincere

That takes me back Keith, Claire Jeffrey who is/was the only person I have ever threatened with legal action. She eventually posted a public apology when confronted with the evidence. Don't hear much of her she must be busy spending her 30 pieces of silver.

That's the one Howard
I met her for a coffee before she crossed floor of course kept that very quiet.
As Iv said before any true party member would find it difficult to join another, more so one that has such different views and one that wants to take on people on benefits

I remember when she defected and as per usual her and her husband were treated to some vile stuff on social media orchestrated by Momentum. Eventually Dylan who had run the local party single handed for years chucked it all in and left with all the paperwork and records from over the years so the party had to restart from scratch.

Not quite the same stories I was getting,,,,,,,,
Whilst still in the Folkestone Labour party the 2 Jeffries decided who stood where, no selections
totally undemocratic(like a Dover party whos brother and sister chose candidates so it was said lol)
Jeffries were being pushed to hold branch meetings from local to regional party but resisted.
that's how democratic they were(and probably still are)

By Election result: Ian Venables has gained Margate Central. Labour gain from UKIP. What next for UKIP? The last time they won or successfully defended a seat was on 9th February.

Minority administration but Labour and Tories would have to back each other to win votes which seems unlikely.

Says rather a lot about the Thanet electorate that they still elected this immoral individual.

There appears to be a typo in that report...
Surely what she said was "I am sorry that I was caught and do not apologise for not being aware of election laws, after all I am only a councillor not a lawyer. If I was certain I wouldn't get caught I would most definitely do it again"

I read it as along the lines of "sorry if I broke electoral law but I have no problem taking goods meant for the destitute to further my political ambitions".
I find it hard to believe that she is in the "people's party" and that they still endorsed her as a candidate.

Not often that Thanet Council comes in for praise whoever runs it, cracking down on rogue landlords sets a great example that our Council could follow.
