  The age-old argument against democracy. All she does is demonstrate yet again the sheer contempt the EU has for we serfs.

  Similar to the contempt our own government show towards us by passing stupid no smoking in cars laws whilst doing nothing about dogs who do really kill our children, follow EU directives to flood vast swathes of perfectly good farming land and then have the temerity to blame one of their own quangoes, give subsidies to useless alternative forms of "energy", put into place sinister plans to put us all on an NHS database to be shared with private companies and the insurance industry, Pass laws which would force news outlets to reveal sources, etc. etc. etc.
  We don't need the convenient headline about EU arrogance to cover over crap the conservative party, labour and liberals are inflicting on us all.

  getting back to the article she comes across as talking down but is dead right about the level of debate in the u.k.
  
  most people are unaware of what is uk law or eu legislation - mind you she shot herself in the foot by telling us that 70% of our laws come from brussels.

  i would say almost out brian judging by the desperate noises coming out of the european union.
  
  they tried to brow beat the swiss, that didn't work so they turn their attention to us.
  
  i still say it will start to fall apart well before we eventually have a referendum.
