I see that Nathan Sutton, the landlord of The Duchess pub, is standing in the forthcoming General Election as Independent Brexit. This is not the first time that a landlord of this pub has stood in a General Election, my old mate, Bill Stone, stood as Independent Social Democrat in 1974 when he was the landlord, the pub was called the Dover Tavern in those days. Bill got 661 votes. Bill and myself still go in the Duchess occasionally, maybe he can give Nathan a few tips.
