Cameron talks the talk but his policies do not walk the walk.
No 10 pours cold water on claim David Cameron wants to 'get rid of green crap'
Downing Street says it does not recognise phrase attributed to PM, and says he is not ditching commitment to environment
Downing Street has said it does not recognise reports that David Cameron ordered aides to "get rid of all the green crap" from energy bills in a drive to bring down costs.
According the Sun, the prime minister used the direct language to dismiss green levies, which go towards paying for renewables and helping the poor cut their usage.
He has already promised to roll back green costs, which currently make up £112 of the average bill, over concerns about the record energy prices.
It comes at a time when the coalition is under pressure over the cost of living, as Ed Miliband said he would freeze energy bills for 18 months.
However, Cameron's focus on green levies has caused fear among green groups and some Liberal Democrats that he is retreating further from his pledge to run the greenest government ever.
Downing Street denied the "vague" report, saying they did not recognise the language when asked about the phrase "green crap".
However, they did not appear to deny the sentiment, pointing out Cameron has repeatedly promised to roll back to green taxes.
The Sun quoted an unnamed senior Tory source as saying: "The prime minister is going round Number 10 saying: 'We have got to get rid of all this green crap'. He is totally focused on it.
"We used to say: 'Vote blue, go green', now it's: 'Vote blue, get real'."
There is likely to more detail in next month's autumn statement about which green taxes will be axed or moved into general taxation. More than half are linked to schemes to cut energy usage among the poor.

this somehow seems appropriate.

It is probably true that this has been the 'greenest' government ever. But, that is NOT a good thing.
If Cameron is going to ditch green levies and other excessive green measures then good, so it should. All these are doing is push up the costs of our energy, much of that was started by Milliminor incidentally.
Time will tell if Cameron really is getting back to common sense over 'green' issues. Until actions match words it is right to take it all with a pinch of salt.

The wool has well and truly been pulled over the eyes of everybody. They tell us that green levies amount to a mere £120 or so.
Not true.
It's much, much more than that due to the costs (billions upon billions) to virtually rebuild the grid in order to connect up wind farms, solar arrays and other useless form of pretend energy. Also there is a re- balancing of the whole network to accommodate this nonsense.
That's only the beginning as the amount of money these mad schemes contribute towards the overall cost will rise further every year until the real and hidden green levies total 50% of the bill.

I doubt there are many (if any) who think the green levies are the right way to go about saving the planet from all the so called terrible things that are about to happen now and in the future.

If you won't to go green ,the best way would be to ,not buy anything from china or India
China uses the dirtiest production methods, enslaves its workers
And it gets its power from dirty coal; they open a new coal power station every 18 days regardless of the planet
We never get anything from the green lobby or the left wing saying anything regarding this.
All the green crap we in the UK are doing will not stop anything
All it will do is stick up energy bills and close UK industries and business.
