Great picture just in from Fab Forumite Tom 'Guzzler' Mitchell of these fantastic planes whizzing by just a matter of a few feet overhead. The plane above is of course a Spitfire and the other one, oh so close below, a Hurricane. Tom attended the recent service for THE FEW which took place at the Battle of Britain War Memorial at Capel, just last sunday in fact, and was very ready with his camera to grab this magnificent flypast in sharp accurate detail. To get both planes in the shot at such close contact and at such speed is a bit special, so well done Tom and thanks for letting us all see it.These planes are inspirational just like THE FEW who fought and died winning that Battle of Britain all those years ago.

MP INSPECTS CAPEL’S FLOOD DAMAGE AND SAYS HE WILL ‘KNOCK HEADS TOGETHER’ TO PRESS FOR A REMEDY.
Dover MP, Gwyn Prosser, met with his constituents in Capel today (Monday 2nd July) to inspect the damage done to their homes in last Tuesday’s flood and discuss ways of preventing a reoccurrence.
After meeting with some of the flood victims, the Community Warden and the Chairman of the Parish Council at Capel Community Centre, Gwyn said:
“I’ve been aware of the recurrent flooding problem that has affected parts of Capel Street and Lancaster Road over the years but I had no idea how severe the most recent flooding had been or how much damage had been caused.
“The flooding is very local but for those who have had their homes inundated with water and who have had their property and furniture damaged it’s been a nightmare and I’m determined to do all I can to help find a remedy.
“In the first instance I’m making urgent representations to the local authorities, the water companies and others seeking a joint meeting to thrash out what’s going wrong and determine who’s going to put it right.
If there’s any reluctance to take action then I will have no hesitation in taking the matter to Ministers."

Our very own Blackfish Academy were asked to perform at the recent Tryangle Awards at the Winter Gardens in Margate..so perform they did and by all accounts they were excellent, showing in tremendous light, to a wide audience, the current state of the performing arts in Dover. They entertained one and all with excerpts from their new show We Will Rock You, which they will perform at the Roundhouse Theatre Dover from July 3 to July 9.
The good news for Blackfish is..its a sellout! This of course is bad news for punters trying to get hold of a ticket. The top tip here is get in early for the next Blackfish production. However the Box Office number is 07999 817172 just in case of returns.
The Pictures on show here are of the cast performing Queens huge hits 'Radio GaGa' and 'We are the Champions' at the Tryangle Awards, all of course from the We Will Rock You show, and are courtesy of Richard Esdale of The Blackfish Academy. Many thanks Richard for the great pictures.
