Well it was a great party with a great turnout at The White Horse Inn, maybe the best for a fair few years. Great food, great drink, and all very well organised by ColetteB and Barry W-S. Nice collection of glamourous women too...ooh I say! There will be much more on it later but for the moment yours truly is in aspirin recovery mode so will just get up this one picture.
You may remember the picture quiz we had a little while ago. There were 2 winners, Paul 'Scotchie' Wells and Barry Williams. They both went into a hat last night and the winner was drawn by legendary former Mayor Jan Tranter, and she picked out in fine style...yes wait for it...Scotchie! That's Jan above presenting the hot £20 prize to Paul( Scotchie). Paul opted to then split the prize winnings with BarryW between their two main projects. Paul runs the Western Heights Project and Barry the Hellfire Corner Project so they happily shared the meagre funds, but like they say...every little helps..!
Left above we have the good time good looking trio of Alison Williams, Barry Wadsworth-Smith and Charlotte Revell, all enjoying themselves greatly and having a gay old time. Alison and Barry are of course longtime longterm Forumites and Charlotte, le dancer magnifique, was featured lately here on Doverforum. She runs a series of dance classes at The Triangle Centre. See more in the Comments and Features section.
On the right we have Barry Williams, with Cllr Sue Jones, and of course another longtermer Paul Wells...all sampling the delights of the gorgeous grape...with Paul probably suffering from the dizzifyingly ecstatic effect of having just won the £20 star prize!
On the left we have the lovely duo of Briony Boland left and Laura Bassett. Enthusiastic Doverforum supporters of course, and always very decorative for sure.
Sporting the very latest line in hot Iraqi battledress is none other than 'Colonel' David Hannent. Very fetching it is too, so pity therefore that I didnt quite capture a bit more of it for the cameras, but it's the top notch look for this season. In the centre, in shot on left, is the hardworking Colette Boland, who holds all this social activity together, and ensures the party goes with a swing as always, just beside Colette on the right is Chris Tutthill of Whyte Studio. Chris built this website and works quietly away in the background doing all the heroic work, so it was great to see him at the event. The picture on the right shows the irrepressible duo of Mike and Carole Webb. Mike never stops merrily chattering away even when being photographed, alongside him is the lovely Carole looking terrificly exotic as usual.
Thats yours truly PaulB being propped up by a woman on each elbow, and what better way to remain perpendicular after a few glasses, and in such glamourous circumstances too. Of course the two lovelies are Jan Tranter and ColetteB. Aah all these wimmin and so little time! The pic on the right shows two of the ould cronies from ould times...yes none other than the legendary Croc of the River, Ian Lillford, and of course that other legend in his own time, legal challenger extraordinaire Stewart Dimmock. Stewart now returning to the fold of the INDEPENDANCE PARTY. That's a hot scoop for you all!
Ah that effervescent topdog councillor, Nigel Collor, is always good fun on a night out, and this time was no exception. Always great to see him of course and here he is sharing a jovial joke and a chat with Georgette Rapley and of course that man Stewart again.
EXTRA Pic Just in. The picture on the right shows Heidi 'Mum of Seven' Barter having a hug and a cuddle with our man Stewart. Nice to see longtime favourite Heidi again.
Gorgeous Jan again, this time with ever-so-lovely girls Saskia Wadsworth-Smith and Rachel Bassett. The lucky chap on the right to be surrounded by all these lovelies is Alex Williams.Nice to see them all having a good time.
Thats all folks! there were more pictures but had to select only a relative few. And of course it isn't always possible to get round to photographing everyone. There was a great turnout and all were welcome. A special mention must go to Roger and Jean Walkden who made it along. Jean hasn't been out much lately due to health difficulties so it was great to see her back in the fray again.
Many thanks to Jack & Jill at The White Horse for being such great hosts.
